Our Therapists Miriam L. Reid, OTR/L, LMBT (NC License No. 1245), Owner Miriam graduated with a B.S. degree in June 1991 from the Occupational Therapy program at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. After receiving her degree, Miriam moved to the Raleigh area, along with her husband and son. She received her Therapeutic Massage certificate, in 1999, from the Medical Arts Massage School in Raleigh, NC, and taught at the school for 3 years. She also received her Medical Massage certification in January 2007 from BTI in Siler City. Miriam has been practicing massage therapy since early 1999, after working for 8 years as an occupational therapist, specializing in the rehabilitation of orthopaedic and neurological conditions. Since opening Moonshadow Therapeutic Massage and Rehabilitation, Inc., she has combined her occupational therapy and massage skills to build a medical approach to therapeutic massage. In January 2007, Miriam completed her Medical Massage certification from Body Therapy Institute (BTI) in Siler City, NC. Miriam specializes in Medical Massage, Deep Tissue, Trigger-Point, Pregnancy, Swedish, and Sports Massage techniques. She also specializes in CranioSacral Therapy and Manual Lymph Drainage and Corrective Decompression Therapy. Sami Clark, LMBT (NC License No. 3819) Sami graduated from Medical Arts Massage School in April of 2003, and has been practicing massage full-time since May of that year. She currently holds both North Carolina and National Licensure. She also received her Medical Massage certification in January 2007 from BTI in Siler City. Sami has experience in a sports/exercise facility atmosphere, and worked for nearly 2 years at a day spa just prior to joining the Moonshadow family. She specializes in Medical Massage, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Trigger Point, and Sports Massage. She also enjoys performing on-site chair massage at a number of local businesses, including Red Hat in Raleigh, Outten Chiropractic in Cary, and Whole Foods in Cary. Recently, she became Moonshadow's Chair Massage Coordinator. Sami received a B.S. and B.A. from North Carolina State University in 1996, and worked for almost 5 years in the computer industry before recognizing that massage was what she truly "wanted to do when she grew up." Peter Watts , LMBT (NC License No. 0258) Peter graduated from Body Therapy Institute in 1996 and has been practicing massage for 10 years. He currently holds both North Carolina and National Licensure, and is Certified in Medical Massage. Peter specializes in Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone, Swedish, CranialSacral Therapy, and on-site chair massage. He brings his years of experience into every massage to give you the most benefit to your massage. Peter also has a degree in Computer Science and worked in the computer industry for 12 years before finding his true calling as a Massage Therapist. Audrey Lenhausen, LMBT, NMT (NC License No. 5277) Audrey's picture will be posted soon. Audrey graduated from high school and attended community college in Illinois before moving to Atlanta to pursue her education in massage therapy. She graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in the fall of 2004. Audrey joined Moonshadow Therapeutic Massage and Rehabilitation, Inc. as a new graduate and has refined her skills in Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Swedish Massage. Presently, Audrey is continuing her education in health sciences and pre-physical therapy as a full-time student at Meredith College in Raleigh. Lisa Barr, LMBT (NC License No. 4755) Lisa's picture will be posted soon. Lisa graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Caldwell Community College in Boone, NC. She also earned a B.A. in Enlish from Appalachian State University, in May 2007, while minoring in Spanish. Lisa brings 4 years of massage experience and compassion to Moonshadow. Her specialties include Deep Tissue, Swedish, Hot Stone Therapy, Sports, and Shiatsu. Lisa is also a part-time Hang Gliding Instructor for Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head, North Carolina.
